The demo is just the tutorial, which is hardly thrilling. It also allows you to wander around the main space station, so if you like to socialize and RP in the Star Trek setting, that's not a bad deal. The three day trial is about all the Star Trek Online you'll ever need, so purchasing this game is not something I can recommend in good conscience. Nevertheless, Cryptic could have released some kind of amazing content patch at this point, so feel free to take a look at the latest patches to see if you're willing to give it a go. I can only hope it treats you better than it treated me. Another reason for the poor score is the game's extremely limited free trial. The entire trial in Star Trek Online can be completed within an hour or two.
